When stress women are pregnant, they tend to gain weight and this scares them a lot. They are frightened to gain a lot of weight and belong to the group of people who have this illness called called obesity.

Gaining weight is not really pregnant women’s fault but the society’s view on them. Because of all the commercialization our society has on weight loss, women and even those who are pregnant want to reduce their weight in order to avoid being ridiculed by other people.

Nowadays, many pregnant women are conscious of their weight and the food that they take. The reason why they do so is they do not want to look fat. But little did they know that this can greatly affect the state of the baby.

In order to maintain a healthy condition, pregnant women should not only have an optimistic view in life but also right eating habits to provide for the nutrients that the mother and the baby needs. Because eating foods is the best way to gain nutrition in the body, pregnant women need to gain weight in order to sustain the nutritional needs of the fetus growing inside her. Pregnant women should just continue eating in the early months of pregnancy so that they can provide the nutrients the baby needs to grow healthy and strong. Another reason why gaining weight is important in pregnancy is that it determines if the mother is healthy enough to continue the pregnancy. It does not really matter how much you weigh once the first trimester of the pregnancy comes in. There is still a need increase your weight regardless of how light or heavy you weigh. For example, women who are overweight during their pregnancy is still required to increase their weight with at least 20 pounds while pregnant women who are underweight are preferred to increase more weight  ranging from 20-40 pounds. These data are idyllic to pregnant women who are going to have single babies. As for two or more babies, pregnant women need to weight a lot more to be able to provide the needs of the growing babies inside the womb.

Aside from the benefits of being able to provide the nutrients that the baby needs through healthy foods, the optimal health of the child is secured when he or she comes out of this world. Women who have not gain weight during pregnancy, on the other hand, gave birth to small and sickly babies.

However, eating a lot is not the only thing to do. You also have to be mindful of what you eat and how often you eat. The recommended number of calorie-intake that a pregnant women need to achieve is 400 to 500 a day. Though anything can be advised to be eaten during the first stages of pregnancy, some foods should be stopping themselves from eating food with ingredients like caffeine, coffee, alcohol and alcoholic beverages, and bad habits like cigarette smoking that may cause severe mental problems to the baby.

Moreover, to gain weight during pregnancy, one must perform a list of exercises to be done regularly to get fit and firm muscles. With a combination of all these advices, pregnant women can easily gain weight during her pregnancy at a healthier way.
