Are you one of the people who exercise for hours and hours a day and still you get disappointed despite your efforts? Are you the worker who moves a stack of stones from one location to another by moving them small number at a time rather than using a wheel barrow to move the whole heap at one big time? This explains why it is important to work smarter than work harder.

Moreover, in exercising, people often make countless sets and repetitions of a specific workout to fatigue a muscle. Little did they know that doing fewer and more intense repetitions make similar or better results. An example of an exhausting work out is weight lifting in which the goal for a muscle to reach its point of exhaustion. This can really help you reach that point but there are other work outs and exercises that can help you accomplish it more quickly. But of course, if you like spending time in the gym, then you can do sets and repetitions as many as you can.

For people who want to make their workouts a part of their daily lives and not the point of their whole existence, working out smarter is the best workout plan for you. You can start by doing 4 intense sets with variation of weights and repetitions such as 12, 8, 6, and 10; instead of 3 to 5 sets of 12 to 16 repetitions. The technique is to use enough weight to make the repetitions count.

The first set involves the warming up of the muscle and should use a weight at about 60% of your 1 repetition maximum (rm). This is the maximum weight you can lift for only 1 repetition. The next set is to do 8 repetitions with a 80% weight of 1 repetition maximum. After this, you will do 8 repetitions with a 90% weight of 1 repetition maximum. As you can see, each set becomes harder and difficult to complete unless you tap your inner strength to complete the last repetition. You have to wait around 60 seconds between each set and the final set will go back to a 60% of your maximum weight again but in 10 repetitions. These are the most difficult steps.

In applying this to your daily exercise routine, you should use two different exercises per muscle. This way, you will feel the difference with your muscles instantly. With a 35-minute workout everyday, you will be able to exercise each muscle fully and get your desired results within a short amount of time. You will also get to secretly laugh at the guys who spend two hours or more at the gym everyday and still, nothing changes with their physique or body.

The hard work is not only the important thing to work hard on if you really want to have your desired body. You also have to be smart in order to figure out the best and shortest way of exercising your body.
